Ingredients
- 400g Krvavica sausage
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 300g sauerkraut, drained
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
Steps
Slice the Krvavica into 1cm-thick rounds.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced Krvavica and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, until browned and heated through.
While the Krvavica cooks, sauté the chopped onion in a separate pan until softened. Add the drained sauerkraut and caraway seeds. Cook for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
Serve the pan-fried Krvavica immediately with the warm sauerkraut. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Tips
Do not overcrowd the pan when frying the Krvavica to ensure proper browning. A dollop of sour cream adds a welcome coolness.
