Ingredients
- 400g Morcilla de Burgos, casing removed
- 4 slices sourdough bread, about 1 inch thick
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp honey
- Fresh thyme leaves, for garnish (optional)
Steps
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Spread morcilla evenly on the sourdough slices. Arrange apple slices over the morcilla.
Drizzle olive oil over the toasts. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the apples are tender.
Drizzle honey over the warm toasts. Garnish with fresh thyme, if desired. Serve immediately.
Tips
Morcilla de Burgos has a delicate texture; handle it gently when removing the casing. To prevent the bread from becoming soggy, broil the toasts for the last minute of cooking.
