Ingredients
- 200g Baranjski Kulen, well-aged
- 1 large fresh white onion
- Homemade bread or rustic white loaf
- Šljivovica (plum brandy) for serving
Steps
1
Remove the outer casing from the kulen. Slice by hand into thick rounds, at least 5mm. Never use a machine.
2
Slice the onion into thick rings.
3
Tear or slice the bread into generous chunks.
4
Arrange everything on a wooden board. Pour šljivovica into small glasses. Take a shot before the first bite. That's the rule.
Tips
The kulen should be at room temperature, not cold from the fridge. Take it out at least 30 minutes before serving, as the flavors open up dramatically.
