Ingredients
- 400g Bockwurst, sliced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups cooked rice, cold
- 1 cup sauerkraut, drained
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- Optional: green onions, chopped, for garnish
Steps
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
Add Bockwurst slices to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
Push the Bockwurst mixture to one side of the skillet. Pour beaten eggs into the empty space and scramble until cooked. Break the eggs into smaller pieces.
Add cooked rice and sauerkraut to the skillet. Stir-fry everything together, breaking up any clumps of rice. Stir in soy sauce and sesame oil. Cook until heated through, about 3 minutes. Garnish with green onions, if desired, and serve.
Tips
Ensure the rice is cold and slightly dry for best results. This prevents the fried rice from becoming mushy. Adjust soy sauce to taste, considering the saltiness of the sauerkraut.
